The M.Tech Civil Engineering programme offers flexible specialization pathways that enable students to develop advanced expertise in their chosen domain. The specialization is awarded based on the elective courses selected and the dissertation/project undertaken during the programme. Students may specialize in one of the following areas
Students may specialize in any one of the following domains:
Develop expertise in transportation planning, highway engineering, pavement design, intelligent transportation systems, traffic engineering, urban mobility, and sustainable transportation infrastructure to improve safety, efficiency, and connectivity
Focus on soil mechanics, foundation engineering, ground improvement techniques, geosynthetics, slope stability, earthquake geotechnics, tunnelling, and underground infrastructure for safe and resilient construction.
Gain advanced knowledge in hydrology, hydraulic engineering, water resources planning, wastewater treatment, environmental engineering, flood management, climate resilience, and sustainable water resource management
Develop competencies in construction planning, project scheduling, cost estimation, contract management, quality assurance, risk management, Building Information Modelling (BIM), lean construction, and digital project management.
Acquire expertise in sustainable construction practices, green building materials, energy-efficient buildings, life cycle assessment, circular construction, carbon footprint reduction, smart buildings, and environmentally responsible infrastructure development
