With a career spanning over 46 years in teaching, research, training consultancy and educational administration,Dr Chawla held various leadership positions in Punjabi University, Patiala,University of Rwanda, RIMT University and MRS Punjab Technical University,Punjab. In his professional career, he also worked as Financial Advisor in a Kenyan Business Conglomerate.
He participated in "Micro Economics of Competitiveness" at Harvard Business School,USA. and thereafter coordinated their Executive Education initiative “Making Markets Work” in East and South African Region. Dr Chawla also attended International Teachers Program “CPCL” at Harvard Business School, Massachusetts, USA.
Dr Chawla led various projects in collaboration with USAID, Ministry of Health - Government of Rwanda. He had been holding Adjunct Professor positions at Wilkes University, USA and University of South Pacific, Fiji.
He has supervised 27 students for PhD degree and have published 75 research papers, articles in the reputed journals and authored/edited 11 books.He is a training consultant with many government and private organizations in India and also a nominee director of two companies in India.
