The University School of Commerce & Management (USCM), Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab, successfully organized a Financial Literacy Awareness Programme on 6 October 2026 at 9:30 AM at the university Seminar Hall, as part of the observance of World Investor Week 2026. The programme was conducted under the aegis of CDSL with the objective of promoting financial awareness, informed investment practices, and responsible financial decisionmaking.

Dr. Jai Kumar was the resource person for the programme. Through a practical and informative approach, he explained the importance of financial literacy in today’s rapidly evolving financial environment and the need for informed and disciplined financial decisions.

The session covered financial planning, precautionary investments and investment risks, a basic understanding of securities markets including demat accounts and trading, and mutual funds and bonds as avenues for wealth creation. Participants were also made aware of investor protection, including the role of SEBI, investor rights, and grievance redressal mechanisms, along with commonly used financial terms and financial fraud awareness.

The programme further highlighted retirement planning, long-term financial growth, taxrelated investment strategies, and responsible investment behaviour. Participants were encouraged to stay informed, assess risks carefully, and avoid investment decisions made without adequate understanding. The session was interactive, giving participants an opportunity to engage with the resource person and gain practical perspectives on financial planning and investment. USCM expressed its sincere gratitude to Dr. Jai Kumar and acknowledged the support of CDSL and the concerned stakeholders.

The programme created greater awareness about responsible investing, investor protection, and financial security, reinforcing the message: “Invest Wisely | Stay Informed | Build a Secure Tomorrow.” USCM looks forward to organizing more such awareness programmes and academic–industry initiatives to strengthen financial literacy at Lamrin Tech Skills University.
