GUEST LECTURE ON ENHANCING EMPLOYABILITY THROUGH PRACTICAL IT SKILLS

 

The University School of Commerce and Management at Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab successfully organized a guest lecture on the topic “Enhancing Employability through Practical IT Skills: Bridging the Gap between Academia and Industry” on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

The session was conducted by Mr. Rakesh Kumar Giri, Founder of RG Startup (Mohali), a renowned Digital Marketing expert with over 7 years of industry experience. He was accompanied by Mr. Lakshay Kumar Kashyap, a final-year B.Tech (CSE) student from IKGPTU Mohali Campus 1 and a proficient Full Stack Developer, along with Mr. Prince, a core team member of RG Startup actively engaged in IT training and project development.

Mr. Giri shared deep insights into the world of Digital Marketing, SEO, Social Media Marketing, and the application of tools like Google Ads, Meta Business, SEMrush, WordPress, and Canva. He emphasized the importance of practical IT skills in today’s evolving job market and encouraged students to build their digital portfolios and engage in freelance opportunities.

Mr. Lakshay Kumar, with his strong foundation in React, Node.js, Django, MongoDB, and various frontend-backend technologies, inspired the students with his journey and offered guidance on becoming career-ready through hands-on projects and open-source contributions.


The session was highly engaging and interactive, attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students from Commerce, Management, and Computer Science. All the faculty members participated enthusiastically in the session.

Ms Mandeep Kaur, MBA Student, who highlighted the significance of aligning academic learning with industry expectations, led the welcome address and event coordination. MS Neha, MBA Student, expressing gratitude to the guest speakers for their valuable time and impactful contributions, presented a vote of thanks.

This guest lecture marked another successful step by the University School of Commerce and Management in its mission to provide practical exposure and industry-relevant learning experiences, thereby empowering students for successful careers.
